Product Review: Korres Lip Butter

Purchased at a Sephora store, $12 Canadian
Sephora - Korres Lip butter

Guava Lip Butter - the tint is very sheer

Jasmine Lip Butter - the tint is a sheer pink

Who needs dry, chapped lips in the winter when there's Korres Lip Butter: "a buttery lip balm that melts on the lips and offers a shiny, tinted finish. The combination of Shea butter and Rice wax offers deep hydration and softness. Ideal for chapped lips."

Only one word for this lip product: BUTTERY!
The description of the product did not lie at all. This lip butter with great amounts of Shea butter and Rice wax is hydrating and comforting on the lips!
What I love about this product is that it is formulated without any parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragnances (Guava, wild rose, quince and pomegranate), synthetic dyes and petro-chemicals. This means more natural, healthy products on your lips without having to worry about placing harmful chemicals on those delicate surfaces.

Korres lip butter comes in various shades and flavours. So far, I have tried Jasmine (a sheer neutral pink) and Guava (clear). Korres does offer Mango (sheer peach), Quince (sheer rose), Plum (sheer lavender berry), Pomegranate (sheer coral) and Wild Rose (sheer deep red).

Korres lip butter stays on your lips without having the feeling of stickiness. It adds a bit of tint, which I love, and the product smells great. The formula of the lip product is smooth, which is easy to apply with just your fingers.
I purchased this product a year ago, and it actually helps with dry, chapped lips. It hydrates your lips so effectively that after a week of using this product, I noticed that my lips were smoother and less chapped.
As well, the packing is small so carrying it around in your pocket, clutch or purse is highly convenient!

Although it is more expensive than drugstore brand lip balms, I have re-purchased the Jasmine Lip butter. Compared to Nivea's lip balm, I found that Nivea's product did not stay on my lips and the formula was quite waxy (it was not easy to apply on the lips). As well, Burt's Bee's chap stick had the same "waxy" feeling on my lips. Plus, both these drug store products did not last long on my lips, so having to apply it constantly was kind of annoying.

On the down side of this product, I would prefer if this lip butter had SPF in it. That way, during the winter and summer months, our lips can be more protected with an SPF ingredient. As well, because the packaging is in the form of a "pot", having to apply this product with your fingers can not always be hygienic. First,  having bacteria on your fingers is a high possibility, and using that finger to apply the lip product may transfer bacteria from your fingers, onto your lip product and onto your lips. But other than those two mentions, I would highly suggest purchasing this item if drugstore chapsticks are not effective for you.

INDULGE.
