WINTER OBSESSIONS

Being constantly obsessed with smooth skin and cuticles, I am always on the look out for great products that can provide moisture for my body during these cold, winter months.

Here's a list of my favourite winter items that I have been constantly reaching for in these past 2 years:

1) VELVET TUBEROSE Body Cream (Bath and Body Works)
Approximately $12.50 Canadian

I scored this lovely product from Bath and Body Works during Boxing day week sale for ONLY $3!!! This body cream is like no other. It's thick, smooth and when applied, is not greasy at all.
Even though it is a body cream, I always use it for my hands as well.

The smell reminds me of velvet cupcakes (hence, the name velvet) and roses.
In fact, Tuberose is a Mexican plant with white waxy flowers. I, myself have never seen a Tuberose flower, but the smell is honestly soothing and relaxing.

If you don't like the smell of roses, I would suggest Sweet Pea Body cream

2) SWEET PEA Body Cream (Bath and Body Works)

Approximately $12.50 Canadian

the scent Sweet Pea is actually one of Bath and Body Work's most coveted scents. In fact, I won't blame them- this scent smells sweet and delightful!
Sweet Pea is actually one of the first scents I've ever purchased from Bath and Body Works! Ever since then, I've brought their shower gel, hand cream (which is awesome for making your cuticles soft and smooth), shampoo & conditioner and body splash.

You see, I am quite obsessed with this scent, and I would recommend anyone who wants a sweet, but not over powering scent to go with Sweet Pea Body Cream!

3) THE HAND CREAM by Victoria Secret
Approximately $8 Canadian

When the Victoria Secret store finally opened in a nearby mall near my house, I knew I had to check out the infamous store! Not only were their makeup selection priced decently, but their body products were not bad at all.
I brought a decent amount of products to try, but the one that grabbed my attention the most was their HAND CREAM (yes, it is actually called HAND CREAM)
Because it was my first time purchasing a body product from Victoria Secret, I went and just brought the smaller size- their "airplane friendly" size. It is 2.5 fl oz.

When I first applied the cream to my hands, the formula is great. My cuticles were smooth for the rest of the day! As for the scent, I am never into strong, vibrant scents, but this hand cream is exactly that! However, after a couple of uses, you do get used to the scent. Plus, the scent does not linger in your hands all day; I would say the scent lasts for about 15-20 minutes.
But overall, this hand cream is the best formula yet!

4) CAKE Satin Sugar All-purpose Treatment Balm
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P256406&categoryId=C22111
Approximately $25 Canadian at Sephora

For those of you who don't know, CAKE is actually a Canadian brand. When I saw this at Sephora, I actually brought this product on a whim, but after trying it out, the product does wonders for your skin during the winter months.

Although it is just 2 oz, I have been using this product for 2 years now. My only compliant about this product is that it is hard to use- as in, it is not your typical body cream, but more as a wax. Therefore, when I first purchased it, I had to place it in a warmer area so that the product would be user to use.

But overall, this product "is for anything and everything from knees, knuckles, cuticles, heels, elbows, dry spots, frizzy ends, toes". I have tried applying this product to all the body parts listed! However, when applied to my frizzy ends on my hair, it does get greasy, so I don't suggest doing that (unless of course, you want to try yourself!). As for the rest of the body parts, it really does definitely moisturize and does not dry out quickly. It is also not greasy at all.
I also enjoyed this product because it is made with 86% shea moisture, and for those who don't know, shea is a natural fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree. It's one of the most moisturizing elements (in my opinion) ever found in lotions.

5) SUGAR Lip Treatment by Fresh
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P57002&categoryId=C19571
$26 at Sephora

What's a "winter necessity" list without a lip product? Everybody in the winter, whether they admit it or not, gets dry, chapped lips.

SUGAR actually comes in 3 different shades. There's a regular conditioning one, a sugar rose tint and  sugar plum tint. All three lip balms are SPF 15 (another benefit for the winter months!) For myself, I just stuck with the regular conditioning lip treatment.
However, if you have tried the rose or plum tint, please do share your thoughts/opinions!

This product comes without the following ingredients: parabents, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, and GMOs, but it is filled with nutrients such as Vitamin A, C and E, which provides protection from wrinkly-causing free radicals.

Who will ever pay $26 for a lip product? Well, I did and I brought this product on a whim when I was shopping at Sephora! On YouTube, all makeup gurus always have great things to say about this lip product. So, when I entered Sephora, I knew I had to give this product a try.

The first thing I noticed was the packaging of the product. For $26, the packaging is spectacular, let me tell you. Instead of simply closing like a regular chapstick, SUGAR actually has a cute, unique closure for its lip treatments; that way, it doesn't easily open when placed in a purse or bag.
The second thing that I automatically noticed when I opened the package was the scent. For those who are not familiar with FRESH products, the scent smells exactly like lemon drops. The formula is the most soothing formula I have ever tried (yes, this even means that it beats Burt's Bees and Chapstick!) I might sound just a tad bit crazy, but within a week of purchasing this product, I had already finished half the tube; I think i was obsessed with applying the product on my lips.

However, the downfall of this product would be the price. Even though I enjoyed this product very much, my tube is running low. I am still debating whether I am going to spend $26 on this lip balm. For now, I am probably going to stick to my Korres lip butter (I'll provide another review on that later)

INDULGE.
