Mark Cosmetics Hook-Ups

Mark cosmetics was famously advertised once by Lauren Conrad and now by Ashley Greene.

Mark cosmetics is known for their line of Hook-Ups connector. It is designed to interlock 2 of your favourite make-up products together ; you can create your own custom dual-ended make-up with just one connector.

If you live in the States, Mark Cosmetics can be purchased directly from Mark Cosmetics' website: http://www.meetmark.com/PRSuite/home/home.jsp

If you live in Canada, Mark Cosmetics can be purchased from Avon:
http://shop.avon.com/shop/product_list.aspx?cat_type=B&bnd=1&level1_id=300&level2_id=469&dept_id=469&omnCode=Mark

I decided to try out their line of Hook-Up products a few months ago.

The items listened below are the products that I purchased. The website offers a special deal- when you purchase 2 Hook-up products, a free Hook-Up is included. If not, you can purchase a single Hook-up for $0.50.

Mark Pro Gloss Hook Up Plumping Lip Shine in Sexy ($6.00)
The lipgloss (Sexy) is a perfect nude colour.

Mark Glow Baby Glow Luxe Hook Up Lip Gloss  in Lotus Luxe ($6.00)
The lipgloss, in a sparkly pink is a natural, flattering colour on lips

Mark Lash Splash Hook Up Waterproof Mascara in Black ($6.00)
The mascara is a good product- it doesn't cause clumping, but because it is waterproof, it's more difficult to take off than compared to normal mascara. The pink signature indicates that it's one of Ashley Greene's favourite mascara!

Mark Kiss Dry Goodbye Lip Smoother ($8.00)
It works just like a lip balm. The size is small  enough to carry in your purse, or added onto a Hook-Up connector. I usually have this on my Mark Hook-Up with a lip gloss.

Mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Good Riddance ($6.00)
My skin tone is light-medium. The product is smooth and it works alone or under foundation perfectly!

Mark Get Bright Hook Up Highlighter in Natural ($6.00)
My skin tone is light-medium. The highlighting colour is very natural, and can bring out your sculpted cheekbones when applied properly

Still a kid at heart

Now a days, it seems like every celebrity out there has their own book. We've got Mike "The Situation" (from Jersey Shore), Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth, Snooki (from Jersey Shore), Whitney Port, Kendra (ex-playboy) and Hilary Duff, all writing about their experiences on "life", or short fiction novels.

For those who can't write, they make SILLY BANDZ.
I am talking about the Kardashian sisters, who recently created their own line of Silly Bandz.

HITS with Neutrogena All-in-One Make-up Removing Cleansing Wipes

I did blog about Neutrogena's Night Calming make-up remover wipes in my "Top 10 Favourites of 2010". Well, since then, I have finished my Night-calming pack of make-up wipes. I decided to purchase their regular make-up wipes. These wipes can be found anywhere. I purchased mine at Shoppers Drug Mart, but I have seen them at super markets, Wal-mart, and Zellers

Regular cleansing wipes

Night calming cleansing wipes

The pack comes with 25 pre-moistened wipes. The size of the wipes are large enough to wipe down all the make-up from your face. It can remove anything from lipstick, lip gloss, eye shadows, foundation and waterproof mascara. They're even great for sensitive eyes!

Unlike most make-up remover wipes (trust me, I've tried lots!) these wipes are so gentle that it does not dry out your skin afterward. I've found that most drugstore make-up wipes are too harsh for my skin, leaving it feeling brittle and dry after using. As well, when removing mascara, most make-up wipes sting my eyes, but I've found that the Neutrogena cleansing wipes never had that effect!

I personally like the Night-calming Make-up remover wipes because they have a fresh scent of lavender, but the regular make-up wipes are just the same quality minus the scent.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Victoria Secret's Deep-nourishing Lip & Body Moisture Balm

When my near-by shopping mall opened up a Victoria Secret store, I obviously I had to go in and purchase some items. One of the items I purchased was from their body care line.

During these cold winter months, I thought that purchasing a moisturizing balm from Victoria Secret would provide me with moisturized and nourished skin. Boy, was I ever wrong!

Their "deep-nourishing lip and body moisture balm" DIDN'T provide as much nourishment as the product had calmed. This product comes in a tube form (approximately 0.35 oz.), which is small enough to carry around in your pocket, purse or bag.

This product can be applied to anywhere- from dried cuticles to chapped lips and elbows. When I first purchased this product, I thought the formula would be thick and moisturizing, but after using it for 5 months, I've come to the conclusion that I dislike this product more and more.

Although the ingredients include Shea, Jojoba and Cocoa Butters, which are suppose to be the greatest ingredients for providing moisture onto dry skin, this product's formula was terrible. I will admit, though, that the formula is smooth, but it's not thick enough to moisturize those areas that are chapped. The smell can be described as "tropical", so if you're into that kind of smell, then most likely you'll enjoy this one! In my opinion, it's not really one of my favourites.

The formula is not thick at all; it doesn't smooth or heal chapped lips. Because the formula is so thin, I tend to use allot more product than needed. Even though I apply more product, the balm just seems to melt off my skin after 10 minutes without even hydrating or moisturizing it at all!

I have tried other body care products from Victoria Secret, and all of them are very moisturizing. However, there's just something about this product that doesn't help my dry skin at all! This product was approximately $10 Canadian, and I definitely will not re-purchase after I finish this tube of product.

Product Review: Benefit's "R.S.V.P." Creamless Cream Shawdow & MAC "Bare Study" Paint Pot

Who doesn't know about MAC's famous paint pots?!

Well, I actually purchased this product on a whim when I was shopping at a Mac Cosmetics store. I purchased "Bare Study" which can be described as a frosty champagne colour. When applied, there is barely any colour (which I liked) except for the hint of frost. I usually apply this product as a highlight (but you can use it as a eye shawdow as well) on my brows, but you can obviously try it out in various ways. That's the joy of make-up - experimenting with a product!

Paint pot products have a very creamy, light texture, which is ironic, but it is good for people with oily lids. Therefore, no primer is needed, but you can always apply a layer of primer, IF you want. The packing is sleek and elegant, and I've got no compliments for it.

However, because the product has a creamy texture, it does dry out if you do not store it or close the lid properly.
But other than that, if you want a classy, nice, brightening high ligher for your cheek bones, inner tear duct or brow bone, "Bare Study" is the most natural and flattering colour for people who have light to medium skin.

Another dupe that I've found for MAC's Bare Study" paint pot is Benefit's "R.S.V.P." Creamless Cream Shawdow!!
I actually got the sample product, for it was part of a "free" gift from Sephora's beauty insider. Speaking of which, people who shop at Sephora should definitely have a beauty insider card - they have a point system where every 100 and 500 points gets you amazing makeup steals!

So, Benefit's "R.S.V.P." Creamless Cream Shawdow is a creamy, but a heavier texture compared to MAC's "Bare Study". Again, the colour is the exact dupe of "Bare Study" where it can be described as a frosty champagne colour. Because the formula is a tad bit heavier than "Bare Study", i usually apply this product on my lids. Plus, the heavier texture shows up on my lids better compared to the light formula of "Bare Study"

The lasting power on both products are the same. However, when applied with a eye primer, the shadows do last longer on the lid without creasing/smudging.

I currently don't have my camera with me right now, but I will definitely post up swatches of the two products I just reviewed.
